As a Dog Daycare Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and happiness of dogs under your care. Responsibilities
Supervision and Play:
- Engage in interactive play sessions with dogs, ensuring they receive both physical and mental stimulation while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Monitor group dynamics and individual dog behavior to prevent conflicts and promote a harmonious play environment.
Feeding and Medication:
- Prepare and serve meals to dogs based on specific dietary instructions provided by pet owners or management.
- Administer medications to dogs as directed, ensuring accurate dosages and timely administration.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Regularly clean and sanitize the daycare area, including play zones, kennels, feeding stations, and common areas.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, and waste disposal to uphold a hygienic and comfortable facility.
Monitoring Health:
- Observe dogs for signs of discomfort, illness, or unusual behavior, and promptly report any concerns to management.
Customer Interaction:
- Greet dog owners during drop-off and pick-up times, providing warm and friendly customer service.
- Offer updates on dogs' activities, behavior, and overall well-being to owners, and address any inquiries or special requests.
- Photograph pets to share with owners documenting their day.
Behavior Management:
- Assist in managing group dynamics by intervening to prevent conflicts or addressing behavioral issues.
- Promote positive interactions and socialization among dogs, redirecting negative behaviors when necessary.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's behavior, preferences, feeding routines, medical needs, and any special requirements.
- Document any changes in health, behavior, or appetite, and communicate these observations to management.
Training Support:
- Assist in basic training activities, reinforcing positive behaviors and helping dogs learn essential commands.
- Participate in training sessions to improve your own knowledge and skills in handling dogs effectively.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and protocols and be prepared to assist in case of medical incidents or other emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Passion for dogs and cats, a commitment to their well-being, and a understanding of canine behaviors and needs.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in various situations, including interactions with dogs of different temperaments.
- Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and guidelines.
